The Salvation Army of Batavia
Welcome! The Salvation Army in Batavia, New York is proud to serve the residents of Genesee County through a variety of spiritual and family ministries and crisis assistance programs through body, mind and soul. Military veterans have always held a special place in the heart of The Salvation Army- we continue this tradition. We are committed to serving those in need and being a resource for every man, woman, and child. Lts. Bradley and Rachel Moore invite you to visit to meet the staff and take a tour of the community center.
One program which continues to grow is New Beginnings. This program focuses on individuals who are re-entering the community after an extended stay in an institution. Individuals are offered assistance with shelter, housing, clothing, advocacy, spiritual counseling, and life skill classes. The center is home to an AA group, three NA groups, and Recovery In Progress (a faith based recovery group).
Our "Youth Ministries in the Arts" program gives young people instruction in dance, drama, singing, and band. After a six-week rehearsal period the groups host a Sunday performance for the community.
The influence of Christ is the motivation for all we do. Throughout the week individuals meet for Bible studies, worship meetings, prayer times, recreation, current event discussions, and camaraderie.
The Batavia Salvation Army provides services and ministry to the Genese County region through our spiritual life, social service office, family ministries, older adult clubs, veteran's outreach, and recovery programs. The community center gym is available for family events and group activities. The Emergency Family Services office provides assistance with food, rent/mortgage, utility bills, disaster response, and Christmas toys. Family minstries include: pastoral counseling, youth programs, anger management classes and family-focused events. We are pleased to be a meeting site for AA-Winner's Circle and NA-Reclaiming Life.
