The Salvation Army of Dunkirk

The Salvation Army Dunkirk Center for Service strives to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, and social needs of Northern Chautauqua County through our Worship Services, Bible Studies, Food Pantry, and Youth Basketball Program.

Bible Study: The Salvation Army's Bible Study offers a bible focused study available to everyone. We enjoy the fellowship with other believers that occurs on a weekly basis. Anyone who wants to know more about God or dig deeper into the Bible is welcome to join.

Food Pantry: The Food Pantry is open Monday through Friday to meet the physical need of nourishment in Northern Chautauqua County. Requirements: proof of residency in Northern Chautauqua County, Photo ID for applicant and all household members age 18 and over. ID for children. Proof of all income and expenses.

Youth Basketball Program: The Youth Basketball program provides the youth of Dunkirk and surrounding areas with a safe place to go after school by offering homework help, age-specific basketball teams, and encouragement as the children develop into adults. Hours vary, please call Sixto Rosario for more information.

Youth Nights (Grades 1st-12th): Youth Nights take place from 5pm-7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The evening begins with dinner, followed by Sunbeams & Adventure Corps character building programs on Tuesdays, and the Singing Company Children's Choir on Thursdays. A Bible lesson including music and a program called SundaysCool finishes the evening before dismissal. Note: Transportation home may be provided at parent's request. Registration is required for Youth Nights. Please contact Major Ramirez for more information.

Christmas Assistance: During the Christmas season, we proved toys, clothing, and food to families of Northern Chautauqua County to help alleviate the struggles that come at Christmas time. Individuals come into our office to apply for the Christmas Assistance program. After individuals have applied, toys, clothing, and food will be packed specifically for that family.

Kettles: The Salvation Army placed "red kettles" at various location during November and December to collect funds. The funds that we raise are used to continue to help the people of Northern Chautauqua County. All of the money raised during this time, supports our programs and assistance opportunities.

Please contact our Officer in charge, Major Christina Ramirez, via email christina.ramirez@use.salvationarmy.org with any questions.
