The Salvation Army Elmira Citadel Corps serves in Chemung and Schuyler counties, changing lives every day. Whether it be meeting physical life needs; offering a place of worship that truly cares about you; or a gathering place offering educational and recreational activities for personal growth and a sense of community. We are there, making a difference with your help!
The Salvation Army Elmira Citadel Corps provides individuals, seniors, veterans, families who do not have enough funds to put nutritional meals on their table. We provide food packages to help make ends meet. We offer nutritional classes, budgeting classes, SNAP benefits registration, health care registration and more. Food Security is our goal.
The Salvation Army has operated a Domestic Violence program since our beginnings in the late 1800s. Currently, our Safehouse Domestic Violence Shelter offers a safe place for all walks of life. We offer no judgment about whether a victim should stay or leave the relationship. Our role is to empower those we serve. We provide 24 hour crisis and support Call (607) 732-1979, counseling, safety planning, assistance in preparing petitions for Court, accompanying through the criminal justice proceedings, community education, informaton and referral. Services are fre and confidential. Safety is our goal.
The Salvation Army is a church. We offer other services which bring hope and joy. Sunday School and Worship Services on Sunday mornings. Bible Studies during the week. Adult and youth programs for education, character building and a safe place to socialize and have fun together. Positive Interaction is our goal.

Super Sunday for Kids provides lunch, crafts, movies, singing, Bible lessons, games, prizes snack and more!
NA and AA Meetings are held at our Corps as part of the Our House Community Residence Program, call (607)734-0032 for more information.
Women's Ministries Group includes education, fellowship, worship and service for women of all ages. Come and find friendship, kindness and support from other women from the community.

Bridge Ministry feeds the homeless where they currently are in the city.
Emergency Disaster Services uses our mobile canteen to cater to those in need from natural disasters (local, regional, state and country) by serving food, cleaning supplies, and other services.
Food for Kids Program feeds at-risk children in the community.
