The Salvation Army of Ithaca
We at the Ithaca Salvation Army are endeavoring to impact our community through various services. Our vision includes all ages and social and economic levels. We are a family oriented center who desires to use our God-given gifts for His glory.
Feeding the Hungry
We provide nutritious food through sit-down meal programs and food pantries. The Salvation Army cooperates with ACT (Area Churches Together) and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier to provide supplemental groceries. Volunteers help by sorting food and stocking shelves, and by distributing food to clients.
Our Brother’s and Sister’s Table is a community meal served on weekends which brings those from within the community to enjoy not only a good healthy meal, but a place to build friendships. The Salvation Army has been involved in the alleviation of hunger for more than 145 years.
Music & Arts Program
Our "Music Forces" program includes all ages. Using musical instruction to educate both young and old. Brass band performances to involve the young and mature. There is a place for everyone to participate.
Seniors
We offer specialized programs geared toward the needs of senior adults. Members of The Salvation Army Golden Agers group gather for fun, service projects, exercise and lunch. Join this group for opportunities to help others or volunteer to help with the program.
Christmas
The holidays can be an especially difficult time for people struggling to make ends meet. We provide Christmas meals, gifts, toys - and hope - to those who need it most. Angel Trees allow people to “adopt” and shop for an “angel” in need.
Camp
Long Point Camp & Conference Center is centrally located in the scenic Finger Lakes Region of New York State and operates year-round. Long Point Camp boasts 138 acres of wooded hills, farmland and shoreline on the western side of Seneca Lake, just off Route 14 near Penn Yan. Our camp is accredited by the American Camping Association and is licensed by the New York State Department of Health.
