Since the snow is falling outside our offices today, it reminds me to continue to thank our Christmas partners who have supported the Army with creative fund raising ideas that help so many in need at the holiday time. For the last two years, Papa John’s Pizza has created a unique cookie, called the Red Kettle Cookie, sold only at the holiday time with a portion of the sales going to help the Army.
This past Christmas, Papa John’s sold 365,554 cookies nationwide and donated $195,000 to the Army. For every cookie sold, they donated $.50 to the Army. This donation is given back to the communities where Papa John’s Pizza shops were located and based on the number of cookies sold. In our division, 12 corps will receive $1,321.86 to be used for hunger relief. The corps and communities where Papa John Red Kettle Cookies were sold are: Schenectady, Saratoga Springs, Syracuse Area Services, Utica, Watertown, Massena, Binghamton, Buffalo and Rochester Area Services, Jamestown, Ithaca and Elmira.
