The Salvation Army of Ogdensburg, NY

The Salvation Army of Ogdensburg, NY helps families who struggle to put bread on the table. Our annual programs include Summer Vacation Bible School, Extensive Christmas activities, participation in the Ogdensburg community Boys & Girls Club, and actively sending youth to Summer Camp.

Social Services

We offer food pantry, fresh food giveaway and soup kitchen in our weekly events (see schedule). We also offer clothing vouchers for fire victims, domestic violence cases, prison/jail release, and other situations. Our fully functioning mobile canteen is available to service fireman, police, and other first responders during disaster situations.

Seasonal Social Services

Christmas Toys and Food Baskets: In coordination with Toys for Tots and the Neighborhood Center, we assist families with toys and food for Christmas.

Back to School Assistance: We help families with school supplies to make going back to school easier.

Summer Mobile Feeding Program: During the summer months we deliver free lunches to children at the pool and Belmont courts.

Utilities Assistance (when funding is available): Assistance is available for families who  need help paying their utility bills or gas/propane delivery during the winter months.

Programs for Children

Afterschool Program: This programs gives children an opportunity to do their homework, have a snack, and participate in recreation, crafts, a bible story and many other activities.

Children’s Care Management: This program is designed to help families with children who struggle with physical and/or mental health needs. 

Vacation Bible School: April 23 – 36, 2018 – 10:00am – 2:00pm and June  25 – 29, 2018 –   4:30pm – 7:30pm

Involvement Opportunities

Advisory Board: Volunteers from the community are organized to strengthen The Salvation Army's ability to serve. Members of the advisory boards, councils and, committees should be leaders who represent the community being served and can uniquely help The Salvation Army to strategically advance its mission impact.

Volunteer: Almost 3.3 million people of all ages volunteered their time, talents, and resources to assist The Salvation Army's work. Our volunteers are critical partners in helping us fulfill our promise to America of "Doing the Most Good."

Disaster Volunteer: Become a member of our local volunteer Emergency Disaster Services team. Helping assist first responders and families during disasters.While each disaster creates its own unique circumstances and special needs, Salvation Army disaster relief efforts focus on seven core services. These services may be modified based on the magnitude of the disaster and adapted to meet the specific needs of individual survivors.
