Today, we extend a warm welcome to new officers who have been assigned to the Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) within our Empire Division.
Majors Sylvia and Timothy MacLean are the new administrators for the Binghamton Adult Rehabilitation Center. Major Sylvia is administrator for Program and Major Timothy is Administrator for Business. They come to Binghamton from the Toledo, OH, ARC. The Binghamton ARC is located at 3-5 Griswold Street in Binghamton and operates eight stores in the area.
Lieutenants Charles and Debra Engel are trainees with the Syracuse ARC. Prior to this, they were assigned to the Williamsport, PA Salvation Army. The Syracuse ARC is located at 2433 Erie Blvd. East in Syracuse and operates 11 stores in Central New York.
The Salvation Army has been providing assistance to people with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. Persons, who have sought our ministry, nurturing environment and healing, have come with issues of substance misuse, legal problems, relational conflicts, homelessness, unemployment, and most importantly, a need for spiritual awakening and restoration.
The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers provide spiritual, social and emotional assistance for men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves.
Each center offers residential housing, work, and group and individual therapy, all in a clean, wholesome environment. The physical and spiritual care that program participants receive prepares them to re-enter society and return to gainful employment. Many of those who have been rehabilitated are reunited with their families and resume a normal life.
When you donate your gently used clothes, furnishings and shoes, your donation supports the ministry of the ARC which operates all Salvation Army Family Stores.
Where else can your donated bag of clothes transform a life?
